Job Advertisement: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Summer Hills is currently seeking a qualified professional to join its team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at our headquarters located in the American University in Baghdad. 

Job Purpose

To lead complex mechanical design and engineering activities for company projects, supporting the Design Office Manager in ensuring high-quality, code-compliant design solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership: Lead the development of complex mechanical designs and technical solutions for company projects, and review/validate design work prepared by Mechanical Engineers to ensure accuracy and compliance. 

Technical Coordination: Coordinate with other disciplines and external consultants on complex technical matters. 

Team Support & Mentorship: Mentor and guide Mechanical Engineers and Junior Mechanical Engineers. 

Reporting: Prepare and submit periodic reports to the Design Office Manager and ensure accurate communication and follow-up on assigned tasks. 

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; a relevant professional certification or license is preferred. 

Experience: 10-12 years of experience in mechanical design. 

Competencies & Skills:

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit MEP and HVAC design software. 

Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and standards. 

Strong leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and analytical skills. 

Excellent communication and coordination skills.
