Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant

Asia Aluminium Company is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join its Finance & Accounting team.

In this role, you will support daily financial operations by processing supplier invoices, verifying payment documents, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Process, code, and match supplier invoices with purchase orders and goods receipt records.

- Review payment requests and supporting documents before processing.

- Reconcile supplier statements, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies.

- Allocate invoices to the correct general ledger accounts, cost centers, and departments.

- Support month-end closing, accounts payable accruals, aging reports, annual filings, and expense reporting.

- Maintain accurate financial records and follow company policies and accounting standards.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- At least one year of relevant accounting or accounts payable experience. Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.

- Basic knowledge of general ledger accounting and accounting principles.

- Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage.

- Knowledge of Iraqi accounting standards and IFRS principles is preferred.

- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.

- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team.
