We're Hiring – Senior Maintenance Engineer

Al Fakher Iraq, a leading company in the Tobacco & Molasses (Shisha Tobacco) Manufacturing Industry, is looking for an experienced and results-driven Senior Maintenance Engineer to join our growing team.

📍 Location: Jurf Al-Nadaf, Baghdad, Iraq

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive Senior Maintenance Engineer to oversee the day-to-day activities of our Maintenance Division and ensure our machines, assets, and facilities operate at optimal performance levels. Working closely with maintenance management, the ideal candidate will execute preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, ensure equipment complies with specifications, and drive continuous operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Work closely with management to identify and achieve division objectives and implement maintenance policies.

- Perform a wide variety of maintenance, and troubleshoot and repair all types of electrical faults.

- Inspect, assemble, install, and test electrical and mechanical equipment to identify defects and ensure code compliance.

- Assist Mechanical and Electrical Engineers in machine preventive maintenance and ensure operation standards are achieved.

- Prepare and study electrical drawings and specifications to ensure installations conform to standards.

- Comply with Health & Safety and Quality Assurance policies.

- Escalate maintenance concerns to Line Managers and perform on-call emergency service as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in the FMCG industry.

Skills & Knowledge

- Professional in electrical and mechanical machinery maintenance.

- Professional in PLC, SCADA, and ERP systems.

- Strong knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques to keep equipment operating.

- Experience in spare parts inventory control, production auxiliary machinery, and alarm systems.

- Excellent English communication skills; proficient in reading electromechanical diagrams and catalogues.

- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.

- Strong competencies in decision-making, problem-solving, risk management, time management, and teamwork.

- Knowledge of production processes, health & safety, project management, and quality management.
