About the program
Are you at the start of your career, and want to learn from engineers who have worked at European companies like Holvi and Workfellow — while building a system that real doctors use every day?
CareGrid builds Clinic Grid, a clinic management system already running inside Iraqi clinics.
What you'll work on
You'll work on both sides: the Flutter app doctors use and the Python backend behind it. This is not a separate training project, it's the same code that runs in production.
The app is offline-first: a doctor can record patient data with no internet, and it syncs to the server later. This is one of the hardest and most rewarding problems in software engineering and you'll learn it from inside a real system rather than from an article.

How we work
Design comes before code. Every non-trivial decision is written up as a short document (an ADR) and reviewed before a single line is written. We have 52 of them so far.
You'll receive the problem framed, then write the design yourself and implement it. We discuss ideas as a team and review each other's designs. This isn't a formality — it's the core of the training: you'll be asked "why" more times than you've ever been asked in your life, and you'll come out of these three months as an engineer who thinks before writing.
You'll use Claude Code daily. We treat that as a baseline, not a bonus. AI writes code fast, but it's wrong with confidence. What we'll teach you is how to know when it's wrong.
What we're looking for
Projects you built yourself, not tutorials you followed step by step. Send the link — big or small.
Fundamentals in Python or Dart. We don't expect both.
A basic understanding of databases and SQL.
The ability to explain your thinking clearly in writing, in both Arabic and English.
You take feedback well and don't take it personally.
Full availability. This is your only job during the internship.
No prior work experience required and no CS degree required.
